🧵 Open Sewing Café – Girls Only

Do you love sewing, or have you always wanted to give it a try? Then join us for a relaxed and creative evening at our Open Sewing Café!

Spend around 3 hours working on your own sewing project, meeting like-minded people, and enjoying a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re an experienced sewist or completely new to the hobby, this event is all about creating, connecting, and having fun together.

✨ Please note: This event is part of the Girls Do Things Nürnberg community, so the main language spoken during the event will be English. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their sewing experience!

Don’t have a project yet? No problem! You can sew a simple and practical Knot Bag instead. We will guide you through the process of sewing the Bag that you will love. If you choose this option, we’ll send you the required fabric measurements well before the event so you’ll have plenty of time to prepare.

Please bring your own fabric and sewing supplies (such as thread, pins, or clips) for your project. We have some Fabric scissors, they will be available to use at the café.

• Around 3 hours of sewing time in a cozy evening café atmosphere
• Bring your own project or sew a Knot Bag
• Meet creative people and make new friends
• Support from experienced sewists if you have questions
• A relaxed, social environment with no pressure

Please note: This is not a traditional sewing workshop with step-by-step instruction. The focus is on sewing together, socializing, and inspiring each other. However, experienced sewists will be there to answer questions and offer support whenever needed.

☕ Coffee specialties and cold drinks will be available for purchase throughout the event.

💛 Do you have a sewing machine you’re willing to share?
Some participants may be interested in trying sewing for the first time but don’t own a sewing machine yet. If you’re happy to share your machine during the event and help introduce someone to this wonderful hobby, we’d really appreciate it! Simply let us know when you register.

We can’t wait to spend a creative evening with you—filled with sewing, conversations, inspiration, and new friendships. Bring your ideas, and we’ll provide the cozy atmosphere!

💛 Who is this event for?

This Open Sewing Café is exclusively for women. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive space where women can connect, learn, and enjoy sewing together in a relaxed atmosphere.

Don’t worry if you’re not able to join this time—our next Open Sewing Café will be open to everyone, including men. Going forward, we’ll alternate between women-only events and open events so that we can both maintain a dedicated safe space and offer opportunities for everyone to participate.
